The endocannabinoid system (also called ECS) is a network of receptors, molecules (endocannabinoids), and enzymes found inside the human body. This system is found throughout the human body, including the brain, spinal cord, gut, and immune system. The role it plays depends on many factors, but it is ultimately a regulatory system. Research suggests that some conditions are linked with an abnormal endocannabinoid system.
